Description

This guided full-day city trip will show you around Vientiane's best attractions. Choose between a half-day and full-day tour that begins with a pick-up from your hotel in the city. From there, you will be escorted to Wat Si Saket, the oldest temple to have survived the Siamese War (1828). Inside, more than 8000 Buddha statues line the walls! Continue to Wat Ho Phra Keo, a religious museum with a collection of Lao and Khmer artwork. Following that, you will be shown the exteriors of the Presidential mansion, which was previously the French governor's mansion, as well as Wat Si Muang, one of Vientiane's most prominent and revered temples.

Your following sights are Patuxai (Arch de Triumph), which was recently built to remember those who perished in previous battles, and That Luang, Laos' holiest place, to conclude your half-day tour. The full-day tour continues with a great lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a brief stop at the Friendship Bridge, which connects Laos and Thailand. You will then go to Buddha Park, which is notable for its collection of over 200 religious monuments, including a massive 40-meter Reclining Buddha picture. On your trip back to Vientiane, you will stop at the Lao Disabled Women's Development Centre, which strives to provide disabled women with knowledge and skills so that they can become self-sufficient and productive members of society. As the sun sets, wrap up your full-day tour of the city along the banks of the Mekong River. Stroll along the river, stop for a cold drink, or try a bite from one of the numerous local food stalls.
