Description

The top sights in Vientiane will be shown to you during this full-day guided tour. You will then be taken to Wat Si Saket, the oldest temple still standing after the Siamese War (1828). The walls are lined with around 8000 Buddha figurines! Proceed to Wat Ho Phra Keo, a religious museum featuring artwork from the Lao and Khmer cultures. After that, you will see the exteriors of Wat Si Muang, one of Vientiane's most famous and beloved temples, and the Presidential residence, which was formerly the French governor's mansion. The next places you should visit are That Luang, the holiest site in Laos, and Patuxai (Arch de Triumph), which was constructed lately to honor those who lost their lives in earlier conflicts. After a delicious lunch at a nearby restaurant, the full-day tour continues with a quick stop to the Friendship Bridge, which links Laos and Thailand. After that, you will visit Buddha Park, which is renowned for its collection of more than 200 religious monuments, including a huge 40-meter Reclining Buddha image. The Lao Disabled Women's Development Center, which aims to give disabled women the knowledge and skills they need to become independent and contributing members of society, will be a stop on your journey back to Vientiane. Finish your full-day tour of the city along the banks of the Mekong River as the sun sets. Take a leisurely stroll beside the river, pause for a refreshing beverage, or sample something from one of the many nearby food vendors.
