The Union of Myanmar, mostly known as Burma due to a period of British colonization, lies at the crossroads of Asia’s brightest civilizations: India and China. Geographically part of Southeast Asia, it is bordered with China on the north and northeast, with Laos and Thailand on the east and southeast, with India on the west, and surrounded by the Andaman sea and the Bay of Bengal.
