Visa information Visa Requirements for Indochina & Beyond
One of the most important aspects of planning your trip is to get a clear understanding of the legal situation in each country you are visiting. Depending on your nationality, you might need a visa to enter your chosen country, a residence permit and/or work permit.
Cambodia Tourist Visa: Online: A one month e-visa can be obtained online in advance from: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, at: https://www.evisa.gov.kh/. All you need to do is complete the online application form and pay with your credit card. After receiving your visa by email, print it out and bring it along when you travel to Cambodia. Please note that NOT all foreign passport holders can apply for a visa online, so please check with your nearest Cambodian Embassy for the specific visa requirements for your country. ASEAN members, all ASEAN passport holders can get visa excemption for 14 days visit in Cambodia. On Arrival: Alternatively, one month tourist visas are issued on arrival at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap international airports. Please note that, as with the e-visa, NOT all foreign passport holders can get a visa on arrival, so please check with the nearest Cambodian Embassy for the specific visa requirements for your country.
Indonesia Tourist Visa: If you are thinking of visiting Indonesia as a tourist, you may not even have to apply for an Indonesia Tourist Visa at all. That’s because the Indonesia visa policy is very lenient, and the majority of people are exempt from tourist visa requirements. The Indonesia Visa on Arrival is a type of tourist visa. It will only allow the holder to stay in Indonesia for up to 30 days. Everyone who is eligible for the Indonesian VOA is also allowed to enter the country without a visa at all for a maximum of 30 days.
Laos Tourist Visa: Unless you hold a passport from Japan or one of the ASEAN member states, you’ll need a visa to enter Laos. The good news is that you probably won’t need to arrange it in advance; thirty-day visas are now available on arrival at most international borders. Myanmar Tourist Visa: Unless you hold a passport from an ASEAN member state, you will need a visa to enter Myanmar. The good news is that you can now apply for an e-visa prior to travel; it takes less than two days to get a visa approval letter. Print this out before you board your flight to Myanmar. Note that all visitors must hold a passport that is valid for at least six months from the time of entry into Myanmar. The visas are valid for three months from the date of issue, and allow you to travel for 28 days inside the country. Chinese, Japanse, India, South Korea, Hong Kong, and some european countries get visa on arrival main International Airports in Myanmar. Evisa is the easiest way to apply and get ready before you board your international flights, often the counter staffs are not aware of the visa requirements and cause to delay your journey.
Thailand Tourist Visa: Ordinary passport holder who wishes to enter the Kingdom for the following purposes is subjected to be granted Tourist visa: Tourism, Short visit to family living in Thailand, Medical treatment with registered hospitals. Participants of MICE (Meeting, Incentives, Convention & Exhibitions) supported by TCEB.
Required Documents
Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months
Visa application form completely filled out and signed
Recent 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm photograph of the applicant
Evidence of travel in and out of Thailand (i.e. air ticket receipt paid in full)
Evidence of adequate finance for the entire duration of stay in Thailand (at least 1,000 USD per person or 2,000 USD per family)
Vietnam Tourist Visas: You will need a visa to enter Vietnam, and make sure you get the correct visa for your trip based on the purpose of travel and the destination. The safest option is to get a visa from a Vietnamese Embassy before you travel. If you plan to leave Vietnam and re-enter from another country, make sure you get a multiple entry visa. There are legitimate companies that can arrange visas on arrival, but you must organize these before you arrive in Vietnam.
